Set up Sealvane on iPhone, iPad and Mac

These Apple devices use a small settings profile instead of an app. The steps are the same for iPhone and iPad, and a little different on a Mac.

Before you start: Sealvane is not open for sign-ups yet. Once you have early access you will get a personal address. In these steps we write it as YOUR-ADDRESS. Replace it with your own address everywhere it appears.

Set it up

Download your profile.
On the device you want to protect, sign in to your Sealvane dashboard and download the profile for that device. Your personal address is already built into it, so you do not need to type it.
On iPhone or iPad: install it.
If a message says “Profile Downloaded”, open Settings. Then go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, tap the downloaded profile under “Downloaded Profile”, tap Install, enter your passcode, and tap Install again to confirm.
On a Mac: install it.
Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Profiles, double-click the downloaded profile, click Install, and enter your Mac password if asked.
Check it's working
Open a website you visit every day. It should load as normal. Then open your Sealvane dashboard. Your device should appear there with recent activity within a few minutes.
You can also check that the profile is installed: on iPhone or iPad under Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, and on a Mac under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Profiles.

How to switch it off

iPhone or iPad: go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, tap the Sealvane profile, tap Remove Profile and confirm.

Mac: go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Profiles, select the Sealvane profile, and click the minus (−) button to remove it.

Your device goes back to its normal internet settings as soon as the profile is removed.
